The first row is what a size is set up for and what we will help you with. It is not a limit: you have root on your own machine and can install and run whatever you like on any size. What it tells you is how much a size is comfortable holding at once, and which one we would put you on if you asked.
Backup. Machines on this plan are built with the provider's automated backup: a periodic snapshot held by the provider, not on your machine. You cannot restore it yourself — you would ask us — and we have not committed to how far back a snapshot reaches or how long a restore takes. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot lose.
Updates applied for you. Ubuntu security updates are applied for you, in a window of about an hour each night. Security packages only: the development tools are pinned and an update never moves them. Nothing is restarted and nothing is rebooted for you — where a patch needs a reboot the machine says so and waits for you to take it. You can turn the whole thing off from the machine's own dashboard.
Bring your own API keys. Model and API access is not included and is billed to you directly by whichever provider you use. The agent CLIs are installed and configured; the account they talk to is yours, and what you spend with it never touches this bill. Several providers do offer a free tier — they are small, and a day of real work will go through one.

A plain VPS is cheaper than this, and it is the same hardware from the same provider. What the difference buys is that it arrives already set up and stays that way — the gateway and its certificate, the tools installed and kept running, and somebody whose job it is when one of them breaks. If you would enjoy the afternoon, buy the VPS.

The first month of a monthly term is charged at the introductory price shown on the card, on a first purchase — one per account, decided from your payment history rather than from this browser. Every month after the first is the full price above. An annual term is charged at the annual price and gets no introductory reduction; it already has 2 months free of its own.
A term renews on its own — monthly terms every month, annual terms every year — so a machine you are still working on does not stop underneath you. Cancel whenever you like and the renewal stops: the machine runs to the date you have already paid for, and its disk is wiped when it does. A renewal is charged at the price on the day it is taken, not the price you first paid.
